My Bhaji Pav....

what is Bhaji Pav?.. it is made of Bhaji & Pav.. hehehe!

it's a vegetarian dish originally came from Mumbai, India.. been one of my favorite here.. & finally, tonight, i was able to learn how make it.. wanna know how?.. really?!.. ok then.. get ready.. here's how..

INGREDIENTS:

Bhaji:
Onion & Garlic (finely chopped - my employer don't eat this because they are Jains - a religion under Hinduism - so just set them aside for me.. hehehe!)
Tomatoes (blended - siguro pwede na rin tomato sauce dito)
Salt & Pepper (to taste)
Green Bell pepper (to see & smell.. hehehe! tama ba yun?.. wakokoko!)
Oil (butter is tastier)
Lemon (walang kalamansi dito!.. dituloy ako makagawa ng toyomansi!.. hahaha!-hmm, where's the tequila?)
& ALL THE VEGETABLES YOU HAVE IN THE FRIDGE! (as in kahit ano pwede! - but more commonly used ones were - potatoes, cabbage, green peas, cauliflower & banana)

Pav: (pronounced as pao -as in siopao!)
Bun (or sliced bread kung walang monay!)

PROCEDURE:

Bhaji:
You make gisagisa the onion and garlic in oil (eh sa nakalimutan ko english ng gisa eh!.. PT po ko kaya pasensya na po!.. hehehe!).. then when its dark brown, throw it away kasi sunog na yun! , it should only be light brown..hehehe!..
as i was saying, when its already brown, pour the tomato puree (naks!).. then mix mix! (halu haluin in tagalog! - sabi sa nyo, di ako kusinero eh!)

Be ready with your vegetables.. make sure that they were already boiled in water (of course) with some lemon & salt to taste (hindi ba dapat tongue to taste, nose to smell & eyes to see?).. then mash them with fork, syanse, palupalo, pandikdik or kahit anong pwedeng dumurog..

then pour them into the tomato, onion & garlic mixture you had made (kitam.. hindi na halata kung ano mang gulay ginamit mo or kung ano mang pandikdik ang ginamit mo!.. kasi reddish na sya!.. masarap ng tingnan!.. hehehe!.. ).. then add your Green bell pepper para may design konte.. add now some Lemon, ground black pepper, chilli powder, tarmarick powder, and bhaji pav masala (na hindi ko alam kung san mabibili sa Pinas - pero pababaunan daw ako ng amo ko.. hehehe!) .. you're Bhaji is ready..

Pav:
Put some oil (mas trip ko ang butter) in the pan.. and painitin ang tinapay.. tapos!.. hehehe!

HOW TO EAT:

serve them while its hot.. some onion toppings & corindier leaves (kinchay) may also be added as garnishing.. (naks ulit!) serve some lemon pieces (masarap syang may lemon).. taas ang paa sa silya.. pumilas ng konting Pav using your fingers tapos isawsaw (i cant find the right term pero parang ganun) sa bhaji .. ibuka ang bibig at isubo ang Bhaji Pav!...
